Marion Hammer, the NRA’s top lobbyist in Florida, didn’t attend Tuesday’s public hearing on a Leon County gun ordinance because of death threats. Hammer and Leon County Commissioner Bryan Desloge discussed the threats in an email exchange that began over the weekend. Desloge, responding to an earlier email from Hammer expressing her opposition to the ordinance, said he learned about the threats from his aide, who’d spoken with Hammer.
