Our G&A April issue will be on Newsstands from April 3rd with new interesting reports and findings from the gun world . Managing Editor Chris Mudgett has been at the range with SIG Sauer’s new subcompact pistol and Tom Beckstrand has been doing some long range shooting with the .224 Valkyrie.
Sauer’s P365 9mm was the most talked about new product debuted at this year’s SHOT Show. For a pistol that dimensionally rivals the popular six-round Glock 43 and Smith & Wesson Shield, the P365 will carry 10- or 12-plus-one, depending on the flush or extended magazine you choose to carry.
.224 Valkyrie
This promising new cartridge is gaining ground over the .308 Win. for long-range AR shooters who don’t want to heft the added weight or accept the inconsistent commonality of aftermarket parts for an AR-10-style
rifle. Still, hunters will likely prefer larger-diameter bullets for big game, and if you want it in a bolt action, it’s worth noting that you can’t currently have one with something other than a bolt gun that feeds from an AR magazine.
Also in this issue…..
Tom Beckstrand and Eric Poole guide you through the new firearms from Springfield Armory and Craig Boddington explains why the Winchester Model 12 became a classic.
