National Shooting Sports Month® Sets the Tone for Invitations throughout the Year
NEWTOWN, Conn. — This is the final week of National Shooting Sports Month®, which runs throughout August, but for many who learned the value of introducing someone new to recreational shooting or for a newcomer with a newfound passion for the shooting sports, it’s just the beginning of many more enjoyable days to come.
Of course, the great thing about target shooting is that you can enjoy it any time of the year — at indoor and outdoor ranges. The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) established National Shooting Sports Month to remind people of that, to focus attention on the fun and safeness of the shooting sports, and to encourage inviting newcomers or inactive shooters to spend some trigger time at their local shooting facility.
Preliminary feedback on this year’s National Shooting Sports Month shows that both industry and the shooting sports community supported the celebration in a big way:
- More than 1,000 range and retailer events were listed at LetsGoShooting.org[1]
- The Trigger Time Sweepstakes[2] has seen a record number of entrants
- More have used the #LetsGoShooting hashtag in social media engagement
Best thing is, it’s not over yet. There’s still time to invite your neighbor, friend or family member to spend time at your local range, to socialize and leave behind, for a time, the distractions and demands of our busy lives. There’s also still time to enter the Trigger Time Sweepstakes. And, of course, there’s still time to visit the new LetsGoShooting.org[3] website to learn more about the dozens of shooting sports available
