BOISE, ID –-(Ammoland.com)- Team Caracal USA 3-Gun competitor Travis Gibson competed in the 2018 Safariland Expedition Multi-Gun Match hosted at Pro Gun Club in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 7th – 10th, taking home a 2nd Place finish.
Travis took his Caracal VERSUS, an out-of-the-box competition-ready rifle, mounted his Vortex optic and conquered the course of fire with four stage wins and seven top five finishes, landing him a solid 2nd Place finish in the Limited Division.
“The goal for this match was to shoot the limited division match with an “out of the box” Caracal USA VERSUS rifle,” said Travis. “This rifle is awesome. I mounted up and zeroed a Vortex Optics Spitfire the morning I stared shooting, and it was spot on all weekend.”
Caracal VERSUS Competition RifleCaracal USA Director of Commercial Brian Leslie said “We’re very proud to congratulate Travis Gibson and Team Caracal USA on a 2nd Place finish at the 2018 Safariland Expedition. The VERSUS rifle is born to fight and built to win. We wanted to make a rifle that shooters could take out of the box and straight to the podium. And, that’s exactly what Travis did.”
Now in its second year, the Safariland Expedition marked the introduction of biometric tracking of competitor’s heart rates and body temperature data to help shooters understand how their bodies are managing the stress of shooting each stage of the match.
This year’s match was dedicated to competitive shooting icon, Michael Voigt, who passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer.
