SPRING VALLEY, Ohio – Outdoor enthusiasts interested in the skills needed to fish from a kayak are encouraged to attend a free workshop provided by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife on Saturday, Aug. 21, from 4-8 p.m.
Instructors will cover topics such as sport fish species, preferred habitats, rigs and bait, as well as kayak tips. All equipment is provided. Participants may bring their own fishing equipment, such as fishing poles and lures, if they choose.
The workshop is free of charge, but pre-registration is required as space is limited and no walk-ins are permitted. Deadline for registration is August 19. Register online at the Wild Ohio Harvest Community at wildohio.gov.
Attendees should meet at the parking area at the Spring Valley Shooting Range and Education Center at 3570 Houston Rd, Waynesville 45068. Please dress for the weather. All anglers age 16 and older are required to have a valid Ohio fishing license. Other items to bring include sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, towel, a dry change of clothes, and a drink.
